Meru County police have seized 15 bales of cannabis in a major operation targeting illegal drug trade.
The drugs were discovered after officers received a tip from a member of the public about suspicious activity in Imenti North Sub-County.
The police intercepted an Isuzu lorry traveling along Ruiri-Nchiru Road. Upon spotting the officers, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled.

After searching the lorry, police found the cannabis carefully hidden in a secret compartment. The drugs were then secured, and the vehicle was towed to Meru Police Station. A manhunt for the driver is ongoing.
