MP Gathoni Wamuchomba Alleges Why Angry Mob Chased Away Governor Susan Kihika in Naivasha

Wamuchomba has weighed in on the recent chaos that unfolded in Naivasha.

Where an angry mob reportedly chased away Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika during her visit to meet victims of the Kihooto disaster.

Gathoni Wamuchomba called for unity and empathy in the face of tragedy, urging leaders to put aside political rivalries and focus on helping victims rebuild their lives.

The outspoken legislator condemned what she termed as political grandstanding in times of human suffering.

Insisting that moments of disaster should not be turned into stages for political showmanship.

“Let’s agree for once  cameras at home. Let’s help the Naivasha, Kihooto, and Elgeyo

Marakwet disaster victims without the two-term and one-term madness. The victims don’t mind a blanket from whatever side,” she remarked.

Gathoni Wamuchomba’s comments come amid reports that Governor Susan Kihika was heckled and forced to cut short her address .

When she visited families affected by flash floods and landslides in Naivasha.

The residents accused local leaders of neglect and politicizing relief efforts instead of offering genuine support.

According to eyewitnesses, tension began when political allies of rival camps began exchanging words.

Turning what was meant to be a humanitarian mission into a heated political showdown.

Gathoni Wamuchomba’s message, therefore, appears to reflect a growing frustration among leaders.

Who feel that political divisions are undermining collective efforts to respond to disasters across the country.

Ensure that affected families receive food, shelter, and medical assistance without discrimination.

“This is not about 2027. This is about our people who have lost homes, loved ones, and livelihoods.

We must rise above petty politics and serve humanity,” Wamuchomba emphasized.

But even as the country continues to grapple with the effects of heavy rains and displacement.

Gathoni Wamuchomba’s message emphasized the growing calls for unity, compassion.

And responsible leadership  a reminder that during times of tragedy, empathy should triumph over political theatrics.
