Oburu Sets One Tough Condition Ruto Must Fulfill for ODM to Abandon Statehouse Dream, Back him Up

Apart from full implementation of the 10-point agenda and other NADCO report recommendations.

The ODM party through its party leader Oburu Oginga has allegedly set another additional condition Ruto must meet to win their support come 2027.

As reported by Nation Africa, ODM has set its eyes on the running mate slot.

In exchange for the party's support, Oburu Oginga has allegedly set the "running mate slot" as the camp's irreducible minimum.

President William Ruto must meet this condition for the ODM party to abandon its statehouse dream and back him up in the hotly contested race.

This condition will without doubt complicate president William Ruto's power play considering the fact that the mount Kenya region has already put a strong claim to the DP position.

A majority of experts and pundits agree that the running mate slot could boil down to three heavyweights.

That is; Musalia Mudavadi, professor Kithure Kindiki and Homa Bay governor Gladys Wanga.

The above three proved their strength in the just concluded by-elections.

Mudavadi barely survived in a hotly contested Malava Constituency parliamentary race as was the case for Kindiki in Mbeere North.

Governor Wanga stamped her authority when she delivered both Unguja and Kasipul MP seats.

Since 2022, the Kenyan political environment has had significant realignments and shifts.

It will be a tough balancing act for Ruto in choosing a suitable running mate.
