Wednesday, the 31st of December, was indeed a sombre day for former Citizen TV news anchor Jacque Maribe.
This is because on the day, she finally got to lay her late father Mr. Mwangi Maribe to rest, after he unfortunately passed away a week ago following a long illness.
Jacque Maribe and the rest of her family members actually laid the late Mr. Mwangi Maribe to rest in the Murarandia Ward of Kiharu Constituency, in Murang'a County.
The occasion was actually attended by several family members, as well as friends who came to support the family in this difficult period.
Also present were some politicians, among them being former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria, Kinyona Ward MCA Liz Mbugua, as well as Dennis Itumbi, who is a close friend of Maribe among others.
Former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko was also slated to attend the burial ceremony, since Jacque Maribe is one of the members of his new party, NEDP.
Unfortunately however he could not make it, and his message was ready by one of the officials of the party, a lady.
Mike Sonko actually sent his condolences to the family and assured told them that he was thinking of them during this difficult period of mourning.
The former Nairobi Governor further praised the late Mwangi Maribe for how he was a good dad, because he raised his kids well by instilling important values in them.
Some of these values he claimed could be seen through Jacque Maribe.
