Kenya Power Advisory to Customers

The announcement comes weeks after Kenya Power issued a public advisory clarifying its hours of operation and reassuring customers that its teams work round the clock to address electricity supply issues.

In a customer notice released on December 24, the utility emphasized that it provides 24-hour service to resolve power outages, carry out inspections, and maintain network infrastructure.

Customers were advised to allow Kenya Power staff access to electricity installations, meters, and cables located within their premises whenever required, whether during the day or at night.

“All our customers are advised to allow our staff access to electricity supply installations, meters and cables that are located within their premises, as they carry out their duties at any time of the day or night,” the notice stated.

To enhance security and prevent fraud, Kenya Power reiterated that all employees visiting customer premises must display official company identification cards bearing their staff numbers and national identification details.

The utility also encouraged customers to verify the identity of Kenya Power staff by dialing the toll-free code *977# and selecting the Jua for Sure option, which allows customers to confirm staff credentials before granting access.

Kenya Power urged affected customers to remain patient during the maintenance period, noting that the works are necessary to ensure a more stable and reliable power supply.
