A fresh political storm has erupted after Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale made strongly worded remarks directed at former President Uhuru Kenyatta, accusing him of mistreating President William Ruto during his tenure as Deputy President and continuing to engage in political criticism even after leaving office.
Speaking in a charged political statement, Duale questioned why the former Head of State would still be at the center of political tensions involving his former deputy, now the country’s president.
His comments quickly sparked heated debate across political circles and social media platforms.
The timing of the meeting could not have been more loaded. Just days before the two were spotted together, claims had been circulating online suggesting that Brayo and George Ruto might actually be the same person, with the theory being that the President's son had been using the biker persona as a way to move through Nairobi and interact with ordinary Kenyans without the baggage that comes with his famous surname.
George had never publicly addressed those claims. Instead he showed up alongside the very person he was alleged to be, which depending on how one reads it either definitively disproves the theory or adds the most theatrical twist to it yet.
Kenyans on social media are divided. Some say the joint appearance confirms they are two separate people.
Others have pointed out that the easiest way to put a conspiracy theory to rest is to manufacture exactly the kind of evidence that appears to settle it.
Brayo's face remains unseen. The mystery remains very much alive. And George Ruto, intentionally or not, just made it considerably more interesting.
