The incident, which reportedly occurred at 3:19 p.m. On Monday, June 6, it was recorded by a home surveillance camera installed in the house. The footage has since circulated widely on social media, attracting condemnation from many Kenyans.
According to the video, the young girl was initially seated calmly on a large bed as she waited for her afternoon nap. The child, who was wearing protective baby mittens, appeared relaxed and comfortable before the house help entered the room.
Moments later, the woman reportedly walked into the bedroom, closed the door, and approached the child.
