Maiyo had succeeded William Oloonkishu Yiampoy in 2024 as the man in-charge of guarding Kenya's number one.

For the man who had spent almost three decades on VIP protection, his recent ouster as PEU was a low moment for Maiyo.

A fortnight later, the fate of Maiyo at the police headquarters remains unknown amid questions on his new assignment after his unceremonious exit from State House.
