The Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ), commonly known as the Office of the Ombudsman, has appointed Naisiae Paloshe Tobiko as its new Chief Executive Officer and Commission Secretary following the conclusion of a competitive recruitment process.
The announcement, made on June 17, marks a significant leadership transition for the constitutional commission tasked with promoting administrative justice and accountability in public institutions.
According to the commission, Tobiko emerged as the successful candidate after a rigorous and merit-based recruitment exercise that attracted 40 applicants from different professional backgrounds. Ten candidates were shortlisted and interviewed before the commission settled on her as the most suitable person to take up the position.
Tobiko joins the Ombudsman’s office from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), where she served in several senior capacities over a career spanning more than 15 years.
