Kang'ata Breaks Silence on Sifuna, Babu and Wamunyoro, Sparks Heated Reactions Online

A fresh political twist has thrown Kenya's opposition politics into the spotlight after Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata hinted that an unlikely political reunion could soon happen.

His bold remarks have sparked intense debate, with many now wondering whether the road to 2027 is quietly being redrawn behind the scenes.

Kang’ata revealed that a time will come when he, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino will unite and listen to what "Wamunyoro" has to say—a reference widely associated with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, whose home has increasingly become a major political meeting point.

The statement immediately fueled speculation about possible new political alliances.

Although Sifuna and Babu have positioned themselves as outspoken critics of the current administration through the Linda Mwananchi movement, Kang’ata suggested that political reality could eventually bring them to the same table with Gachagua.

His comments stunned supporters and critics alike, especially because Kang’ata has repeatedly argued that leaders eyeing the presidency cannot afford to ignore Gachagua's influence in the Mt. Kenya region.

He has previously warned that any serious presidential hopeful would need to engage the former deputy president before expecting meaningful support from the region.

The remarks quickly sparked reactions online, with supporters interpreting them as a sign that Kenya's opposition could be heading toward a broader coalition ahead of the next General Election.

Others questioned whether long-standing political differences can truly be set aside for a common goal.

As political temperatures continue rising, Kang’ata's latest revelation has only deepened curiosity about the conversations happening behind closed doors.

Whether this prediction becomes reality or remains political speculation, one thing is becoming increasingly clear—Kenya's 2027 political battle may already be taking shape, and many are now watching Wamunyoro more closely than ever.
