Ngujiri Reacts After Matiang'i Allegedly Agrees to Back Gachagua's Candidate in Ol Kalou Byelection

Former Nyeri Town MP Ngujiri Wambugu has come out and reacted after Matiang'i allegedly accepted to back Gachagua's Candidate in the Ol Kalou By-elections.

According to Ngujiri, Matiang'i had accepted to withdraw the Jubilee Candidate in favour of Gachagua's DCP Candidate in the upcoming Ol Kalou Parliamentary By-elections.

Both Jubilee and DCP Parties have already fronted candidates in the Ol Kalou By-elections set for July 26th, 2026.

Ngujiri has now accused Fred Matiang'i of agreeing to have Jubilee Candidate withdraw in favour of Gachagua's DCP Candidate. 

This is after Opposition Leaders issued a statement disclosing that they have agreed to back a single candidate in the upcoming Ol Kalou Parliamentary By-elections. 

Wambugu has now suspected whether Matiang'i was offered a deal by Gachagua to have Jubilee withdraw their Candidate in favour of his candidate in the Mini-polls.

"Matiangi had actually accepted to have Jubilee withdraw our Ol Kalao candidate in favor of Jofri’s candidate. 

One wonders what deal he has been offered by Jofri that would make him sacrifice our party like this." Reads Ngujiri Wambugu's message.
