Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has alleged that President William Ruto has spent more than Ksh1 billion on campaigns for the upcoming Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election, claiming the constituency has been flooded with cash ahead of the July 16 mini-poll.
Speaking on Friday, July 3, 2026, at his Wamunyoro home in Nyeri County during a consultative meeting with leaders from Narok County, Gachagua accused the Kenya Kwanza administration of deploying enormous financial resources in an effort to influence voters.
According to Gachagua, the Ol Kalou by-election has become one of the country's most closely watched political contests, prompting the government to invest heavily in securing victory.
