Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has accused Mathira Member of Parliament Eric Wamumbi of sharing private information with President William Ruto, opening a fresh chapter in their increasingly bitter political and personal dispute.
Speaking on Monday, August 17, Gachagua claimed that he had trusted Wamumbi with sensitive information about his family and property affairs. He alleged that the Mathira MP later passed some of the information to Ruto.
Gachagua's remarks come at a time when his relationship with Wamumbi has become increasingly strained. Wamumbi, who succeeded Gachagua as Mathira MP, was once considered a close ally of the former deputy president.
The dispute has also touched on property belonging to Gachagua's late brother. Recent reports indicate that Wamumbi has raised questions about rent from apartments linked to the former deputy president's family. Gachagua has hit back, accusing Wamumbi of misleading family members over the property matter.
