Ruto's Ally Backs Ndindi Nyoro, Says Mt Kenya West Can Finally Breathe

Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has thrown her weight behind Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro following his decision to chart an independent political path instead of joining former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s Democracy for Citizens Party.

In a message praising Nyoro’s political strategy, Nyamu said the development had given Mt Kenya West voters another option as the country heads towards the 2027 General Election.

“Mt Kenya West elites ni wanaweza pumua sasa,” Nyamu said, suggesting that the region could now breathe easier with the emergence of a political alternative focused on issues affecting ordinary citizens.

Nyamu described Nyoro as a product of what she termed the “William Ruto school of politics,” arguing that the Kiharu lawmaker has demonstrated an approach centred on issues that directly affect people’s lives.

According to the senator, Nyoro’s political style could appeal to voters who are looking beyond confrontational politics and personality driven political battles.
