Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has once again launched a scathing verbal assault on President William Ruto.
This time accusing him and his family of aggressively dominating nearly every sector of the Kenyan economy including the matatu industry.
Speaking during a rally on November 5, 2025, the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader delivered a blistering attack that left the crowd alternating between laughter and disbelief.
Gachagua alleged that the President’s hunger for wealth and control had reached unprecedented levels.
“This man is in every business field,” he declared, accusing Ruto of using power to extend his commercial influence far beyond the presidency.
According to Gachagua, the situation has become so extreme that even the matatu industry a vital source of livelihood for millions has been taken over.
“He has even taken the matatus with his children,” Gachagua claimed, a remark that sent ripples through the crowd.
The former DP portrayed Ruto as a leader obsessed with personal gain, arguing that his actions have squeezed ordinary entrepreneurs out of the market.
He went further, alleging that the President’s family has expanded its investments across multiple regions.
Gachagua cited the construction of a luxury hotel in the Maasai Mara, another planned development in Amboseli, and a separate hotel in Samburu National Park as examples.
He claimed Ruto had demanded 400 acres of land from Kajiado Governor Joseph ole Lenku to facilitate one of these ventures.
“This man has taken over every business, pushing others out,” Gachagua concluded, his tone charged with fury.
The remarks marked one of Gachagua’s most personal attacks yet, signaling the deepening of his rift with his former boss.
By directly involving the President’s children in his accusations, Gachagua appeared to have taken their political feud into uncharted and deeply personal territory.
