The Nikkah, one of the most significant rites in Islam, is both a spiritual and legal marriage contract conducted under Sharia law.
It requires consent from both parties and is validated by witnesses. Due to its sacred nature, the bride, though present, is not paraded publicly during the ceremony.
Among the high-profile guests was Sheikh Mohamed Madobe, President of the Jubaland State of Somalia, who travelled to Ijara to honour the Haji family.

His younger brother, Abdul Haji, currently serves as the Senator for Garissa, a seat he won in 2021 after their father’s passing and defended successfully in 2022.
The ceremony drew wide attention due to the combination of religious significance, cultural tradition, and the presence of national and regional leaders.
