Why SC Ahmednasir Abdullahi's Wife is a Stay-at-Home Mom Despite Holding a First-Class Degree in IT

Flamboyant Kenyan lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi once revealed that his wife works from home despite holding a First Class degree in Information Technology. The senior counsel explained that the decision was mainly influenced by family needs rather than a lack of professional opportunities.

According to Ahmednasir, he met his wife after returning to Kenya from the United States where he had been studying. Their relationship grew and they eventually married. After the birth of their first child, she traveled to the United Kingdom to pursue higher education at Middlesex University, where she graduated with a First Class degree in IT.

After completing her studies, she returned to Kenya. However, Ahmednasir asked her to work from home so that someone could be present to manage family responsibilities. He clarified that although she stays at home, she is fully employed and works remotely, earning a salary like any other professional.......To Read the WHOLE STORY CLICK HERE

He clarified that she operates effectively in a remote capacity and receives good pay for her contribution. In an earlier interview, he put it even more directly:
“She’s a housewife, although she is an IT graduate from Middlesex University. She got a first class honours, but I employed her to take care of our kids.”

The arrangement stems from a clear family priority. With four children one son and three daughters the couple agreed that having a dedicated parent at home was more valuable than an external corporate job.

Ahmednasir has described his wife as a better parent than he is, noting his own demanding legal career often leaves him short on time.

By “employing” her to manage the household and raise the children, he ensured stability while still compensating her professionally — turning what many might see as a traditional role into a paid, respected full-time job.

Ahmednasir has never shied away from discussing his luxurious lifestyle and family values in public.

During the same Churchill Show appearance, he proudly showed off his multi-million-shilling mansion and fleet of high-end cars, including his favourite Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon. Yet he consistently credits his success to disciplined choices — including the one that keeps his wife at the centre of their home life.

The story has resurfaced multiple times on Kenyan social media and news platforms, sparking conversations about work-life balance, gender roles, and modern marriage.

For Ahmednasir, the message is simple: his wife’s First-Class IT degree is impressive, but her most important “job” raising their children and running the home is one he values enough to pay her for full-time.
