The Unexpected Fallout After I Sent Money to the Wrong Number and Contacted Githaiga

Before I even speak of this story let me preach something important. Never ever receive money from someone either from Mpesa or any platform and run away with it. This can cost you dearly. Be warned!

For my case, I have never felt the way I felt when a man by the name Githaiga received my money and refused to return it.

I was basically sending my mother some money so that she can pay my daughter’s school fee. She had been send home from school.

But because I was busy and had just to squeeze my time to send the money, I mistakenly sent it to Mr. Githaiga who received and hurriedly withdrew it.

After an hour or so my mom called me asking why I can’t send her the money even after I had promised to do so some last two days. If I can recall she even got peaced off and stopped me from talking to her anymore.

My struggle to try and convince her that I had already send her the cash fell on deaf ears. It was one of my worst days. I even contemplated walking to my rural to find out ‘what is wrong with my mom today’.

I took some time to calm down though, and when I re-looked at my phone and the Mpesa transaction message, I was left in shock realised I had sent the cash to a wrong number. I almost fainted on the ground.

Desperate, I called the number and Githaiga picked and keenly listened to my complaint. He completely refused to having seen any money from me and prematurely cut off our conversation.

I took a heavy breath before calling again but guess what, “Nambari ya Mtenja uliopiga haipatikani kwa sasa,” it responded.

I tried to follow up the case with Safaricom but it never worked. Safaricom only told me that the money had been withdrawn sh 31,000. This turned out to be my longest day on earth; I have never forgotten.READ FULL STORY.
