“I Would Be In Prison Today”: Gachagua Reveals the Mistake He Never Made as DP to Avoid a Jail Term

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has strongly defended his record in government, insisting that he never engaged in corruption during his tenure and claiming that extensive efforts to implicate him in wrongdoing have failed to produce any evidence.

Speaking during a public address, Gachagua argued that his clean record is the reason he remains free despite what he described as intense scrutiny by political opponents and investigative agencies.

The former deputy president maintained that if he had participated in corrupt dealings while serving in office, he would already be facing prosecution or serving a jail term.

According to Gachagua, individuals seeking to damage his reputation examined every aspect of his public and private affairs in an effort to uncover evidence of corruption.

However, he claimed that no credible scandal or illegal transaction linked to his period in government has been identified.
