A section of women leaders from Nandi County have strongly defended President William Ruto against opposition claims that he will not secure a second term in the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during a public gathering in Nandi, the women faulted opposition leaders for what they termed as premature political attacks against the Head of State, insisting that President Ruto deserves the constitutional two terms just like his predecessors.
The leaders argued that Kenyans supported former President Uhuru Kenyatta for 10 years and therefore it would be unfair for the same leaders who backed him to now oppose Ruto’s leadership barely halfway into his first term.
The information stunned both the soldier and his family members who had never received any communication about such a report.
The death certificate is said to have been approved and processed through military channels, with claims that senior officers may have signed documents confirming the soldier’s death.
Sources close to the matter say the soldier had been on official duty in another region during the period he was allegedly reported dead.
The incident has caused tension among fellow officers and family members, with many questioning how such an error could happen in a disciplined institution like the military.
Some relatives feared that the move could have been linked to attempts to interfere with the soldier’s salary, benefits, or insurance payments.
Speaking after the discovery, the soldier reportedly said he felt betrayed and humiliated after learning that official records had erased his existence.
He demanded immediate investigations and correction of the documents to prevent future complications involving his career and personal life.
Legal experts say cases involving false death declarations can create serious problems, including blocked bank accounts, cancelled identification records, and denial of access to government services.
They added that correcting such records can sometimes take months if proper investigations are not done quickly.
Military authorities are now said to be investigating the matter to establish how the death certificate was issued and whether there was negligence or deliberate fraud involved.
Officials have assured the public that appropriate action will be taken against anyone found responsible.
The unusual case has attracted attention across the country, with many Kenyans expressing disbelief on social media over how a living soldier could officially be declared dead by his own institution.
