“Bado Tutachoma Mashule” Video Sparks Outrage as Students Threaten More Fires if Demands Are Not Met

A disturbing video circulating on Facebook has triggered widespread concern after showing two students allegedly issuing threats linked to possible school arson if their demands are not met.

The clip, which has gained rapid attention online after being reshared by singer and businesswoman Akothee, appears to feature two boys recording themselves while complaining about school conditions and outlining demands they say would prevent further unrest.

In the video, the students reportedly call for a two-week midterm break, saying learners need more time at home.

They also express opposition to sitting for exams, suggesting that schools should only conduct end-of-term assessments instead.

One of the boys further claims that students are struggling with inadequate food portions and demands increased meals, saying they often go hungry while in school.

The video also contains alarming remarks in which the boys allegedly warn that if their requests are not granted, there could be continued incidents of school fires.

They are said to suggest that some form of fuel used in such incidents is accessed with the help of individuals within school security, a claim that has not been verified.

The circulation of the clip comes at a time when concerns about school unrest and arson cases have been a recurring issue in parts of the country, often linked by authorities to indiscipline, exam pressure, and poor student welfare conditions.

The video has sparked strong reactions online, with many Kenyans expressing shock over the boldness of the statements and concern about the safety of learning institutions.

Akothee also reportedly reacted in disbelief after viewing the footage.

Education stakeholders have in recent years urged for closer attention to student welfare, discipline, and communication channels in schools to prevent escalation of grievances into unrest.

Authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the specific video, but the incident has reignited debate on school safety and the need for early intervention measures to curb potential unrest before it escalates.
