Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has revealed to supporters and Kenyans at large that they should not expect to see him in political mobilization rallies beginning next week as he will be taking an indefinite break from mobilization.
According to Gachagua, this short sabbatical break from active political mobilization is meant to create time for team opposition's next 2026 power move which is; choosing ( among themselves) the best placed candidate to front against Ruto in the presidential race.
After next week's western Kenya itinerary, Gachagua said that he and his team will retreat to inner circles to handle the biggest task and test awaiting the united opposition that is; choosing their best bet against president William Ruto.
"I will be leading all the opposition principals in making that decision. Be it Kalonzo, Matiang'i, Sifuna, Wamalwa or Martha Karua I will rally my people in supporting their bid," Gachagua vowed.
Additionally, Gachagua vowed to make sure that the united opposition team does not break as they embark on this difficult task. "I will make sure that we do not break but field a single presidential candidate," he said.
Choosing a unified presidential candidate is said to be the key activity that will either make or break the united opposition.
Many pundits have in the recent past opined that a single opposition presidential candidate could give Ruto sleepless nights.
