Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has hit back at President William Ruto over renewed remarks, defending the ownership of his Yatta farm and accusing the Head of State of corruption and land grabbing.
The exchange follows recent remarks by President Ruto, who took aim at Kalonzo's allegedly grabbed NYS farm in Machakos county.
The President's comments came as he defended his administration's development agenda and hit back at opposition leaders ahead of the first anniversary of the June 25 protests.
Responding to the jibes, Kalonzo insisted that his Yatta property was acquired through a legitimate and properly executed sale, dismissing claims that the land was irregularly obtained from public institutions.
Turning the tables on the President, Kalonzo accused Ruto of being the one engaged in widespread land grabbing and corruption, alleging that the Head of State has presided over the irregular acquisition of public land in various parts of the country during his time in government.
The Wiper leader argued that Ruto was in no position to question other leaders' integrity on matters of land ownership.
The latest round of attacks adds to the long-running rivalry between the two leaders, whose political history stretches back to their time as allies before falling out.
The Yatta land saga has resurfaced repeatedly over the years, often coinciding with periods of heightened political tension between Kalonzo and the ruling administration.
The fresh exchange comes at a politically charged moment, with the country gearing up to mark the anniversary of last year's anti-government protests and opposition leaders, including Kalonzo, ramping up criticism of the Kenya Kwanza administration over economic hardship and governance concerns ahead of the 2027 General Election.
