Lavender Akinyi: What Court Has Done To Nairobi Businesswoman Caught With Dangerous Weapons at Parklands Court

A Milimani Court has denied bail and bond to Lavender Akinyi Ogilo after ruling that she poses a significant flight risk, allowing her to remain in custody as investigations continue.

The decision was delivered by Milimani Senior Resident Magistrate Irene Thamara on Wednesday, June 3, after the accused pleaded not guilty to charges of preparation to commit a felony under Section 308(1) of the Penal Code.

According to court documents presented by the prosecution, Lavender was arrested on May 31, 2026, at Parklands Court Limited in Nairobi County.

Authorities alleged that she was found in possession of several tools commonly associated with break-ins, including claw bars, assorted screwdrivers, and a Y-spanner.

The Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) argued that the circumstances surrounding her arrest indicated an intention to commit a felony.

Prosecutors further maintained that she was not acting alone and that investigations into other individuals connected to the case are ongoing.
