Man Confesses to Killing Wife, Claims She Blocked Him at the Door Before the Tragedy

A household in Kiandegwa village, Mwea, Kirinyaga County, is in deep grief after a tragic incident in which 53-year-old Peris Njoki lost her life following an alleged violent assault by her husband, Alexander Chomba.

Reports show that the conflict started over a domestic radio. Chomba is said to have taken the radio and sold it, reportedly to obtain money for alcohol. When he later returned home, his wife confronted him about the missing item, triggering a heated confrontation that quickly turned fatal.

Eyewitness accounts suggest that the argument worsened after Chomba cautioned his wife against questioning him. He then reportedly went to the kitchen, grabbed a knife and proceeded to attack her, stabbing her repeatedly.

Njoki suffered severe injuries and fell at the scene. Neighbours who heard the disturbance rushed to the house after being alerted by the couple’s daughter.
