A tragic family incident has left residents of Githunguri in Kiambu County in shock after a bodaboda rider allegedly killed his wife and young son before ending his own life.

The three bodies were discovered at their home on the morning of June 10, with the woman and child having sustained severe injuries believed to have been inflicted using a sharp object.

The man was later found dead in what investigators suspect was a suicide.

Details emerging from the scene indicate that the rider left behind a lengthy three-page note stored on his mobile phone.

In the message, he described years of emotional pain and family disputes that he claimed had taken a heavy toll on his mental wellbeing.

He disclosed that he had deposited Ksh 203,000 in his Mpesa account and nearly Ksh 20,000 in a joint bank account as part of his plans for a new beginning abroad.

In the message, he expressed affection for his wife and son and claimed he did not want to leave them behind.

He also left instructions regarding welfare funds and appealed to relatives to take care of family members after his death.
