The mid-term break is scheduled for June 24–28, and schools are expected to continue with lessons and examinations according to the official timetable.
Speaking during a press briefing on Tuesday, CS Ogamba acknowledged the concerns raised by school administrators and parents about disturbances affecting learning environments.
He emphasized that while the government takes student welfare seriously, maintaining academic schedules is critical to ensuring that learners complete the curriculum on time and avoid disruptions that could affect national examinations.

The CS further noted that the Ministry of Education has engaged with county education officials and school management boards to address the underlying causes of the unrest, including issues of overcrowding, limited learning resources, and student grievances. “We are actively working to ensure schools provide safe and conducive environments for learning.
Measures such as increased supervision and dialogue with student representatives are already being implemented,” he added.
Parents and guardians have been urged to cooperate with school administrations to reinforce discipline and ensure students remain focused on their studies.
Teachers have also been called upon to identify and address potential conflict triggers before they escalate into larger disturbances.
CS Ogamba’s clarification comes amid a wave of social media reports highlighting student protests over various grievances, including school facilities, examination schedules, and administrative decisions.
The Ministry has reiterated that while students have the right to express concerns, such actions must not compromise learning or safety.
