"Ruto Can Win Without Mt Kenya Votes" Kangata Says How Ruto Can Win Re-election But With Exception

Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang'ata has said President William Ruto can still secure re-election in 2027 even without overwhelming support from the Mount Kenya region.

Speaking in an interview with Kameme TV, Kang’ata argued that opposition to Ruto is not only coming from Mount Kenya. He said there are dissatisfied voters in other regions, including Nyanza, who are also unhappy with some government policies.

The governor noted that many political analysts continue to view elections through a tribal lens, yet Kenya is gradually moving towards issue-based politics. He said voters are increasingly paying attention to how government decisions affect their personal lives.

According to Kang’ata, concerns over taxation, the cost of living, economic hardships, and service delivery are shaping public opinion across the country.

He maintained that these challenges affect all Kenyans regardless of their ethnic backgrounds.

Kang’ata added that policy outcomes are likely to play a major role in the 2027 General Election, as more citizens evaluate leaders based on performance rather than regional or tribal affiliations.
