The Surprise Name in Ruto's Latest Appointments That Has Everyone Talking

President William Ruto has made fresh appointments to several public institutions, with one of the names attracting immediate political attention.

In a Gazette Notice, the President appointed former Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi as the chairperson of the Kenya Animal Genetic Resources Centre (KAGRC) Board. He will serve for a three-year term.

Kiraitu returns to public service nearly four years after leaving the Meru governorship. Before serving as governor, he held several senior positions in government, including Cabinet minister and Member of Parliament.

The President also renewed the appointment of Catherine Kagwiria Mutua as the non-executive chairperson of the Tana and Athi Rivers Development Authority (TARDA) Board for another three years.

Hotel staff eventually managed to free the trapped individuals, bringing the uncomfortable experience to an end. No serious injuries were reported, but many of those involved expressed concern over the safety standards of the elevator systems at the upscale facility.

The incident has sparked discussions about maintenance protocols for elevators in high-traffic buildings across the city. Guests and visitors to major hotels often assume such equipment undergoes regular checks, making this event particularly alarming for many.

Incidents of people getting trapped in lifts, though relatively rare, highlight the importance of emergency preparedness and swift response mechanisms in public and commercial spaces.

The Mövenpick Hotel is yet to issue an official statement detailing the cause of the malfunction or measures being taken to prevent future occurrences.

As the video continues to gain attention online, it serves as a reminder of how quickly everyday situations can turn into stressful experiences.

Many Kenyans have taken to social media to share similar past encounters and call for stricter safety regulations in buildings frequented by large numbers of people.
