Western Kenya leaders, led by Boni Khalwale and George Natembeya, have publicly endorsed Edwin Sifuna as a potential political leader for the Luhya (Mulembe) community ahead of the 2027 elections, while criticizing the current leadership represented by Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang'ula.
Boni Khalwale, the Senator for Kakamega, endorsed ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna as a leading political figure of the Mulembe (Luhya) community, saying he now has the blessing to lead the community toward the 2027 General Election.
Speaking in Bungoma County over the weekend, Dr. Khalwale claimed that Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula had failed to provide effective leadership, and that the time had come for Sifuna to take the helm.
