In a social media post on Monday, August 24, Thuku alleged that several DCP aspirants were already making arrangements to travel to America ahead of Gachagua.
The lawyer-cum-politician claimed that Aloise Kinyanjui, the lead DCP aspirant for Juja and brother to Moses Kuria, was already in the US as part of Gachagua’s advance team, while suggesting that several others were also on their way.
He also claimed that Kirinyaga Woman Representative Njeri Maina was likely preparing to travel.
According to Thuku, DCP nomination tickets would be allocated in the US, urging aspirants who could not secure visas and air tickets to forget the DCP tickets next year.

The High Court advocate suggested that aspirants who will not travel to the US can continue printing campaign T-shirts and caps for visibility but should not expect to secure DCP tickets if they fail to make their way to America.
Thuku further disputed the narrative that Gachagua’s trip was solely intended for meditation and making critical decisions away from interference, alleging that prominent members of his political camp would accompany or meet him in the US.
The city lawyer’s claims echoed similar remarks made by former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria earlier on Monday.
Kuria recalled his earlier warning about Gachagua’s trip, saying the former deputy president had confirmed that he would undertake activities in the US away from what he termed interference by some of his supporters.

Gachagua has also not publicly stated that aspirants must travel to the US to secure DCP party nominations.
The DCP leader has only announced that he will leave Kenya on Wednesday, August 26, for an extended trip to the US accompanied by his wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi.
However, neither Thuku nor Kuria provided evidence that DCP nomination tickets will be allocated in the US.
