Safina Party Secretary General Joakim (Joachim) Simiyu has sharply criticized Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, arguing that the powerful security docket is an overwhelming burden for him.
Speaking on Citizen TV’s Monday Report, Simiyu claimed Murkomen was better suited for “Interior Design” rather than Internal Security.
“I think Murkomen was supposed to be appointed Minister for Interior Design and not Internal Security. In interior design, he could be telling members of the Cabinet which shoe matches which belt,” he said.
Simiyu argued that handing Murkomen responsibility for national security has proven too heavy.
“When he was given the mandate to be in charge of security, I think that seems to be a very big burden on his shoulders,” he stated. He further accused the CS of speaking “like a buffoon,” adding that such remarks make the public “appreciate silence.”
