Apologise to Oburu or Forget Your Presidential Bid – Sifuna Told

Migori Woman Representative Fatuma Mohamed has launched a strong attack against Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, warning that his presidential ambitions could face serious obstacles unless he apologises to ODM Party Leader Oburu Oginga.

Speaking during political gatherings, Fatuma maintained that Sifuna cannot successfully pursue the presidency without first seeking forgiveness from Oburu. She stressed that political discipline, humility and respect for elders remain important principles within the party.

The remarks come amid growing tensions within ODM, following disagreements between Sifuna and Oburu over party leadership. Sifuna has previously criticised Oburu publicly, including comments concerning his age, triggering anger among some party supporters.

Fatuma argued that ODM leadership did not unfairly mistreat Sifuna or deliberately push him away from the party. Instead, she claimed, party officials were concerned about what they considered disrespectful and inappropriate public statements.

According to Fatuma, Sifuna repeatedly directed harsh remarks at Oburu despite the party leader being from a generation comparable to that of Sifuna’s grandfather. She said such conduct breached both cultural expectations and political decorum.
