Preliminary reports indicate that Jackline Wangui Njoroge returned to an entertainment joint in Nakuru after learning that another woman had joined her boyfriend there.
The revelation has now become a key part of the investigation into her death.
A detective privy to the case told the Nation that Wangui had travelled to Maili Sita on the morning of August 14, where she met her boyfriend.
The two were reportedly discussing a land transaction involving a piece of property Wangui planned to sell.
According to the detective, the boyfriend had agreed to purchase the land and had already paid Sh380,000 as a deposit. The remaining amount was reportedly expected to be paid within 90 days.
After their meeting, Wangui and her boyfriend went to an entertainment establishment in Nakuru town, where they consumed several drinks.
