"Return Back to Ruto in Peace" Ndindi Nyoro Response to Gachagua for Accusing Him of Being a Mole

Kiharu MP and People’s Party of Kenya leader Hon. Ndindi Nyoro has fired back at accusations that he is a mole for President William Ruto, telling critics within the opposition to reconcile with the Head of State if they so wish and leave him alone.

Speaking at the People’s Party headquarters on Monday, September 7, 2026, Nyoro addressed claims by allies of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua that he is working to split the Mt Kenya vote ahead of the 2027 elections. Without naming individuals directly at first, he warned certain leaders against sending proxies to insult him.

“There are three leaders from a certain party who think the respect Nyoro gives them every day is fear. Next time, do not send people to insult Ndindi Nyoro… We will face each other face to face,” he stated.

Nyoro reminded Gachagua of his past support, noting he was among four candidates shortlisted during the 2022 UDA running-mate selection and signed documents backing Gachagua’s eventual appointment.

He also pointed out that he refused to participate in Gachagua’s 2024 impeachment, acting out of conscience.

Addressing speculation that he remains linked to Ruto, Nyoro was blunt: “Whoever wants to return to Ruto, just go back and reconcile. If you want his money or to work together, you go and leave me alone. I have no time to waste.”

The remarks come as Nyoro builds the People’s Party, receiving aspirants from across the country, while insisting his break with the Kenya Kwanza administration is complete and driven by national interest rather than personal ambition.
