Speaking during the DCP public engagement in Kajiado county, the vocal senator claimed that he received ao many threats and warnings not to lead the DCP campaigns in Kajiado county but defied all of them and instead led the campaigns.

"Tumefika Hapa Kajiado. Waliniambia Nisijaribu Kuleta Campaigns za Gachagua Hapa. Walisema Mimi Nitaona Iwapo Nitakuja Hapa. Tumefika ama Hatujafika? Tumeingia Kajiado ama Hakujaingia? Mimi Ni Mtoto wa Mau Mau Siwezi Ogopa Mtu Yeyote," he said.
