EALA MP Kanini Kega has publicly reacted to Former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s defense of Ex-Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Emphasizing that party leaders should show respect and refrain from insults.
In a social media post on Friday evening, Kega wrote, “My friend HE Riggy G should be given his respect and not insulted! And not anyone else, please,”
Kega's reactions comes hours after Uhuru expressed disappointment over what he described as divisive politics within the party.
The former President condemned the use of abusive language, urging members to express disagreements respectfully.
"It's disheartening to observe individuals on social media who claim to support the party while resorting to insults directed at Rigathi Gachagua and others.
I do not endorse such behavior within my party," Uhuru stated.
He emphasized that ongoing misconduct, especially from party officials, would be unacceptable and could result in disciplinary actions.
The former President specifically warned Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni against leading attacks on Gachagua.
Uhuru’s remarks come in response to Kioni's claims in September that Gachagua had coerced the party’s presidential candidate.
Fred Matiang’i and was secretly collaborating with Pres Ruto’s government, labeling him as a traitor within the opposition.
Uhuru underscored the necessity of addressing internal disputes in a professional manner.
Devoid of personal attacks, and cautioned that continued derogatory remarks would have repercussions.
Kanini Kega echoed Uhuru’s sentiments, emphasizing the importance of unity and decorum within Jubilee Party.
Particularly as the party encounters increasing political pressures ahead of the 2027 elections.
