Speaking on the planned protests, Wanga questioned the motives behind the mobilisation, arguing that some leaders were taking advantage of young people’s grievances to advance their own political interests.
She alleged that certain activists were recording videos and circulating them to sponsors in order to secure funding for the demonstrations. Wanga further questioned the source of the financial support behind the protests, asking who was financing the activities and for what purpose.
According to her, the demonstrations have drifted away from their original objectives and are now being exploited by politicians seeking relevance and visibility. Wanga urged Kenyans to be cautious and avoid being manipulated by leaders pursuing personal agendas.
Her remarks add to the growing debate surrounding the June 25 protests which occured today and have attracted both support and criticism from different political leaders across the country.
