In recent weeks, former president Uhuru Kenyatta and his counterparts in Jubilee party have continued criticizing the Kenya Kwanza government for failing to reduce the cost of living and for not listening to Kenyans struggling with the harsh economic situation.
At the same time, Kenya Kwanza leaders including Aaron Cheruiyot have continued accusing Uhuru of trying to block President Ruto from securing a second term in 2027.
However, as these political gimmicks unfolds, some sources have established that former President Uhuru Kenyatta reportedly rejected several reconciliation attempts by his successor William Ruto.
According to sources close to both leaders, President Ruto began efforts to seek a political handshake with Uhuru immediately after being sworn into office in September 2022 in an attempt to ease hostility that began after the 2017 election and intensified during the 2022 General Election.
