K24 has published a front-page story questioning President William Ruto's Finance Act just days after Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi criticised Media Max over its coverage of the Head of State.
The latest edition of People Daily, which is owned by Media Max, carried a front-page report titled "Exposed: The budget loopholes hiding government wastage."
Inside the paper, the publication also ran a detailed report under the headline "The budgetary gaps State uses to hide wastage, taxes pilferage." The report focuses on claims by the National Assembly's Public Accounts Committee chaired by Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro.
The publication came only days after Sudi publicly took issue with Media Max. The MP accused the media house of giving President Ruto negative coverage despite what he described as the government's achievements.
The timing of the latest People Daily front page quickly attracted attention online. Some linked it to the recent exchange involving Sudi while others focused on the newspaper's continued scrutiny of the Finance Act and government spending.
The Finance Act 2026 received presidential assent earlier this week and officially became law. Since then, different organisations, economists and political leaders have continued discussing its expected impact together with the wider budget for the new financial year.
