Speaking during an interview, Maggie explained that her content is mainly centred around comedy and collaborations with comedians. She said this is very different from the type of content associated with Alicia Kanini, making the identity confusion difficult for her.
“Ukiangalia video zangu mimi hufanya content na comedians,” Maggie said, explaining the kind of work she normally does.
She went on to question what people think about her when they call her Alicia Kanini. “Ukimagine mtu ameniita Alicia Kanini, huyo mtu amepicture aje? That’s why inaniaffect sana,” she said.

According to Maggie, the mix-up has also affected her professionally. She revealed that she has received messages through WhatsApp and email from people offering her jobs that she does not understand or want to take.
“Nimepata a lot of messages and WhatsApp sijui wanatoa wapi namba yangu na email,” she said.
Maggie explained that some of the opportunities appear to be connected to the type of content people associate with Alicia. She said she has been forced to reject such offers and question the people contacting her.

The content creator also made it clear that she does not see herself working closely with Alicia Kanini. Maggie said the two create different types of content and therefore may not have much reason to collaborate.
“Sidhani ningependa kumeet Alicia coz tunafanya content different,” she said.
Maggie added, “Mi nafanya comedy na yeye anafanya something different, so sidhani tunaweza patana.”
Her comments highlight the challenges that content creators can face when their identities or online brands are confused with those of other personalities.
Alicia Kanini, meanwhile, has been known for her social-media content and later moved into adult-content creation. That difference in the type of work is one of the reasons Maggie says the repeated confusion makes her uncomfortable.
