Kaluma made the remarks during an interview with KTN News investigative reporter Herman Kamariki, where he strongly criticised the description of Sebo as a criminal and appeared to defend him against the allegations surrounding the events of August 16, 2026.
The legislator reportedly threatened to have the police commander removed from his position after the officer linked Sebo to criminal activities.
Kaluma questioned the basis of the claims and dismissed those who had described Sebo as a criminal, calling them “stupid” and accusing them of speaking without understanding the situation.
His remarks quickly attracted attention online, with some Kenyans questioning why an elected leader would appear to defend an individual who had been captured on video allegedly issuing threats against members of the Linda Mwananchi convoy.WATCH THE VIDEO.
Kaluma went further to identify Sebo as an ODM youth chairperson in Homa Bay, insisting that he was innocent of the allegations being levelled against him.
The MP maintained that those accusing Sebo of criminal activities did not have sufficient grounds to make such claims. His defence, however, came at a time when public attention was already focused on Sebo following his alleged involvement in events preceding the violence that rocked Homa Bay Town.WATCH THE VIDEO.
Sebo had earlier been captured in footage allegedly warning people associated with the Linda Mwananchi movement against entering Homa Bay Town ahead of the August 16 gathering. The remarks sparked concern among residents and supporters of the convoy, particularly as tensions continued to rise in the area.
