Nominated Member of Parliament Sabina Chege has ignited an intense political debate by asserting that former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua played virtually no role in securing Mount Kenya votes for President William Ruto during the 2022 General Election.

Speaking candidly on regional political dynamics, Chege claimed that President Ruto initially preferred Kithure Kindiki for the running mate position, suggesting that the narrative of Gachagua being the sole architect of the region's massive voter turnout is misleading.

The outspoken legislator urged residents of the vote-rich central region not to allow themselves to be manipulated into harboring unwarranted animosity toward President Ruto based on personal political fallouts.

According to Chege, political posturing from displaced leaders should be scrutinized carefully rather than accepted at face value, emphasizing that the community's long-term economic and developmental interests rely heavily on maintaining a constructive working relationship with the sitting administration.
