Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma has cast doubt on Embakasi East MP Babu Owino’s chances of becoming the next Nairobi governor, arguing that the lawmaker may struggle to secure support from voters in the Mt Kenya region.

Kaluma said Babu’s political strategy had changed the dynamics of the Nairobi gubernatorial race, particularly after the MP moved away from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and aligned himself with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

According to Kaluma, the decision had cost Babu support among ODM members in Nairobi who had previously backed his political ambitions.

He further argued that Babu should not expect the Kikuyu community to automatically support his bid, claiming that many Mt Kenya voters would prefer a candidate from their own community. TO READ MORE, CLICK HERE.
