Paul Karungo Wa Thang'wa is a Kenyan politician serving as the Senator of Kiambu County. He was born into a family of thirteen siblings and began his education at Mitahato Primary School.
The Kiambu Youth Affairs executive, during an interview with a local tabloid, said he had passed auditions to present news but was told he had to cut his dreadlocks.
According to Karungo, he was only 25 years and enjoying his youth after coming from China, where he worked as a lecturer.
Thang’wa recently challenged the government to reveal the amount of money used in campaigning for Raila Odinga’s candidature in the concluded African Union Commission (AUC) elections.
Speaking outside the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters in Kiambu on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, Thang’wa revealed he will be taking the matter to parliament to demand the figures be made public.
He later joined the University of Nairobi, graduating with a bachelor's degree in development communication. Karungo's political career started in 2013 when he was elected MCA for Ngewa Ward.
In 2022, he became the Kiambu County Senator. His political career began in 2013 when he was elected Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Ngewa Ward.
Later, he served in the County Executive Committee (CEC) as a member for youth affairs, sports, ICT, and communication in Kiambu.
