Residents Allegedly Walk Out of UDA Event After Receiving KSh2,000 in Meru

Pauline Njoroge has sparked debate across Kenyan digital platforms after alleging that attendees at a United Democratic Alliance event in Meru County staged a mass walkout shortly after political proceedings began.

According to reports surrounding her remarks, residents had gathered inside Kinoru Stadium wearing UDA-branded clothing. 

The event initially appeared well attended, but Njoroge claimed the atmosphere changed dramatically once the political programme officially commenced.

Njoroge alleged that participants received allowances amounting to KSh2,000 each before leaving the stadium. 

She claimed the attendees quickly exited the venue, creating visibly depleted stands as organizers continued with the scheduled political speeches.

The commentator linked the alleged incident to the increasingly popular “Ol Kalou” phrase in Kenyan political discussions. 

The expression describes voters accepting financial incentives during political mobilization while ultimately withholding their electoral support at the ballot.
